In July, I'll be travelling to Missouri, USA, as a resident composer at the 2014 Mizzou International Composers Festival. Eight composers from around the world will compose a work for new music ensemble Alarm Will Sound and participate in masterclasses with Beat Furrer and Nico Muhly.
I'm thrilled to be attending the 20th International Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, in February, and am currently writing a short piece for orkest de ereprijs, Cabbages and Kings. The Young Composers Meeting is organised by orkest de ereprijs in collaboration with the International Gaudeamus Muziekweek and Podium Gigant, inviting fifteen participants from around the world annually. The directors of the 2014 meeting include Louis Andriessen, Martijn Padding and Richard Ayres.
